Kurt Schär a good respect and to things with lastingness was always only right to the bicycle. The 45-year-old Roggwiler saw an electric bicycle for the first time in 1997 in an exhibition. «I found this immediately a brilliant idea, lost them then, nevertheless, for a few years out of sight», describes Schär which calls Flyer driving, his family with four children, Philatelie and the co-presidium with the green liberals of the canton Bern as hobbies.

From the employee to the boss

In 2000 Schär was put by the BKTech AG for an already existing project in the area of Electric bicycles. «The Kirchberger company stood financially, however, on the edge of the abyss», says Schär which preserved the company on the 3rd of December, 2001. Together with the experienced Product manager Hans Furrer who was active many years at the company Villiger, and two other partners he founded from it the company Biketec AG. This is stationed since the last summer in Huttwil and orders meanwhile more than 120 employees. The location change of Kirchberg to Huttwil has been worthwhile. «In the new, after the Minergie ® standard built manufacture building, we can work very efficiently, have good ecological jobs and, moreover, many work guests and work visitors». Only in this year have been there 600 groups, which followed first the Flyer production on site and made afterwards a Flyer tour. Schär and Co feel as fit as a fiddle in Huttwil. «The municipality and the whole region have warmly taken up us».

Flying light making headway

Why Schär says the electric bicycles "Flyer" becomes clear fast. «The Flyer eliminates all disagreeable factors of the bicycle driving. There is no headwind and no gradients more, one wins only». On operating the Starting-Bottom, one steps in the pedals and can select afterwards again by button pressure from three different variations of the engine support. The strength of the driver is measured constantly and can be complemented by electric motor to 50, 100 or 200 percent. «One could also go without support, but the investment wants to be used and should give pleasure», says Schär.

Big developing potential

There is still a lot of developing potential, says the Biketec boss. «Thanks to a stronger accumulator achievement above all the reach can be increased». A stream load reaches at the moment, according to area and weight of the moving person, for 10 to 100 kilometres. «On an average we speak of 40 to 60 kilometres which one can put back at the moment. In a test with the new 15Ah-accumulator were reached even more than 100 kilometres of reach». The assortment becomes more and more varied. Last year a full mountain bike with full springs was presented in the Flyer state in the Zofinger Powerman-Expo. The Biketec AG makes available such mountain bikes for the pre drivers to the Powerman Zofingen. The Huttwiler company soon puts on the market a new assortment in the sports area and in the everyday area. Nowadays an electric bicycle weighs between 18 and 23 kilogrammes. « I dream of a Flyer which is a little lighter again and even though is stable as well as creates a double reach».

To make people happy

Last year the Biketec AG produced about 28'000 electric bicycles. These will be this year, according to Schär, from 40'000 to 45'000 Flyer and next year even between 50'000 and 60'000 unities. From the price a Flyer costs between 2'900 and 8'000 CHF. «Nevertheless, the bestselling Flyer go for scarce less than 4 '000 CHF about the bar», says Schär, which has a dream job as a manager, leader, head of marketing and sales by the Biketec AG: «We make people happy and this immediately in multiple regard.» With the electric bicycles one helps the people to make progress ecologically sensibly faster. One makes a contribution to the environment and also to the health. «Now many people need a Flyer which have never driven before bicycle.»

Elation experience

One can see the great feeling which offers a Flyer in the Powerman Zofingen live.« I give up you rather 30 seconds on a Flyer than to talk 30 minutes with you about it», is in habit to say Schär. One Flyer test of heart and kidneys will be on the 4th of September 2010 in Zofingen with the Powerman Charity, which will effect as the third time. 45 Flyer are ready

Who wants to run together with these public figures and drive bicycle, has to hurry up, because the start places are highly requested! They can decide on the 5-kilometre-long run distance or for the 30-kilometre-long bicycle distance, which partially goes about the Original-Powerman-Distance. The starting signal to the bicycle distance falls on the 4th of September at 13.30 o'clock,  that to the run distance at 13.45 o'clock. Start and aim are with the Powerman arena. Because around this running acts, no time is also measured and there is no ranking list. In the centre stand the chat and the Charity thought. Besides, the start money amounts to only 50 CHF. The Biketec AG makes available for this sporty part of the Powerman Charity 45 electric bikes. All income of the Powerman Charity is of benefit this year of the endowment child help shooting star (www.sternschnuppe.ch). This endowment has sat down to the aim to fulfil a heart's desire to seriously ill or handicapped children and youngsters.

To win great prizes

In the aim of the Powerman Charity all participants get a great reminiscent shirt. Who announces himself before the 15th of August, 2010 on-line via Datasport (www.datasport.com), can fetch with luck the first great price. Old love to the Powerman

«We want to return, from our success of the society, also something», Schär calls the reasons of the narrow partnership for the Powerman Zofingen, which is close to his heart. Some years ago, Schärs children took part in the power kids. «Further I accommodate since beginning of the Zofinger occasion within the scope of the Homestays always athletes with myself at home in Roggwil». Nice friendship would have arisen from it. «Besides, I would like to motivate many people to take part in this great occasion». For Schär the Powerman Charity is the pleasure and the highlight this year. «This, because so many prominent people (testimonials) takes part». Then with Urs Dellsperger,  Schär also has a very prominent man with him.
