Registration for ITU World Championships

Official deadline for the participation of the ITU World Championships is July 31th 2017.
A later registration is only in the "Open" categories (with own and non WCS classification) possible with a mandatory payment of an additional fee. Exceptions must be approved by the ITU.

Elite athletes have to be nominated by their national federation. The entry in the ITU system and the reporting to the LOC (local organizer) is a task exclusivly carried out by the national federations. Athletes who intend to start at the ITU age group World Championships can directly sign up in the online system of the LOC to take advantage of fee reductions.

All athletes who are interested at ITU World Championships (elite and age category) must DEFINITELY ask the national federation about their nomination. Only after the entry in the official ITU system by the national federation, an athlete will be registrated in the ITU World Championship Start List by the LOC. Otherwise, he will start in his respective open age group category with a separate classification.

National federations may inform themself at any time in the start list of the LOC over candidates for the World Championships. All they need to check on the starting list is the column "Application ITU category". The entry there may be "AK* / Elite / no". If the athlete has not contacted the local coordinator by themselves, he is free to nominate the applicants with a message to the LOC direct.
